Jumping in the Leaves!

September 4, 2019
Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy

My childhood home had a lot of trees in the backyard. One of my fondest memories was jumping in a pile of leaves as my parents raked them. I tried to capture that fun with the cute critters in Lawn Fawn’s Jump for Joy stamp set. This interactive card took quite a bit of time to make as there was lots of coloring and arranging. But, it was worth it in the end, and it was so much fun to make!

To make this card, I stamped out the images onto white cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers, cut them out, and set them aside. For the pile of leaves, I did a bit of masking so I could form one big collection. I did this so the little hedgehog would have a place to hide! Next, I used a grassy hillside border die to cut out two pieces from white cardstock. I blended distress ink over them to make them green and trimmed them down. I stamped the sentiment with versafine ink on one of them, covered it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.

For the sky background, I used distress ink and lightly blended it over the card panel. I cut out all the interactive elements from a piece of white card stock and also lightly blended some distress ink over them so they would match the sky background. I cut out a notch at the top of the card panel with the same die set.

After everything was cut out, I started assembling my card, making sure all the interactive elements were working correctly. Once I was happy with the placement, I glued everything in its place and attached the card panel to an A2 size top folding card.

I have listed the colors I used to make this card as well as the supplies below. This card was a good fit for the latest Lawn Fawn challenge (create a scene) and Simon Says Stamp Instagram challenge (capture fall) so I decided to enter it into both of these challenges. Thanks for stopping by! – Mona
