Hello! Today I am sharing a card I made yesterday for the latest MFT Sketch Challenge.
For this card, I decided to use images from the MFT Mermaid for Each Other stamp set and a scale patterned stencil. I stamped out the images with black ink onto white cardstock. I colored them in with Copic markers and cut them out. Next, I dry embossed the stencil onto an A2 size card base.
To make the stripes at the top of the card, I used my paper trimmer to cut paper in pink and purple. Next, I stamped the sentiment onto the pink strip of paper with versamark ink, covered it with white embossing powder, and heat set it. I glued the strips onto the top left corner of the card base.
To add dimension to the card, I used foam squares to attach the mermaid onto the card base. I attached the stars around the mermaid. To finish the card, I attached the card panel onto an A2 size top folding notecard. I added some glossy accents over the stars to create some dimension and shine.
I love using the dry embossing technique to add a subtle background to my cards. Stencils are inexpensive, and this is just one more way to use them! Thanks for stopping by! – Mona
