Hello! I back in my craft room today after a long time away! My husband and I just returned from a vacation we took to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The ocean at one of the beaches we visited on our vacation had such beautiful colors! I used the colors as an inspiration for the background of today’s card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

The challenge for this week: Make Your Own Background
To make this card, I used images from the Stamper’s Anonymous Flower Garden stamp set. First, I stamped out a flower and stem onto watercolor paper with versafine ink. Next, I sprinkled white embossing powder over the images and heat set them. Then, I blended three colors of distress oxide ink onto the background. I sprayed some water onto the paper and blotted it with tissue to create a distressed look.
Next, I created a border around the background with a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. Then, I cut out and glued together several happy birthday words from the Sizzix Thinlits Celebrate die set and attached them onto the background. To finish the card, I glued everything onto a top folding A2 size notecard and added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in morning dew.

My vacation was enjoyable, relaxing, and inspirational. I know I will be coming back to the memories to help me create ideas for my handmade projects!
Thanks for stopping by! – Mona
