Blooming Lily

Altenew Darling Lily

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a watercolor birthday card I made with Arteza real brush pens.

For this card, I used the lily image from the Altenew Darling Lily stamp set. Lilies are one of my favorite flowers! I love that they have so many different ranges of beautiful vibrant colors. I stamped it out onto some watercolor paper using versafine black onyx ink. Next, I spread some clear embossing powder over the stamped image and heat set it. I colored the lily and set it aside to dry. Next, I stamped a “Happy Birthday” sentiment with the same ink and heat set some clear embossing powder over it to give it some shine. I centered a stitched square die over the image and sentiment and ran everything through my die cutting machine. To finish the card, I attached the stiched square onto a top folding square notecard.

I entered this card into the AAA Birthday Challenge, which is a monthly challenge for birthday cards. This challenge seems like it will be a lot of fun and I am excited for the upcoming ones! For this month, the challenge was to use watercolors.

I love the softness watercolor gives to a card. I hope to continue learning and improving my water coloring skills. So far I have tried the Gansai Tambi Watercolor set and the Arteza Real Brush Pens. I would love to hear what your favorites are! Thanks for stopping by!
